The Local Artist Etching His Name Into Wolverhampton History.

Giovanni, an Artist whose works seem to know no boundaries. From immersing himself in painting and the complex world of animation. Gio, is one of the artists who is working in collaboration with Renowned Sculptor Luke Perry on the RoundAbout Project.

Luke who also is a native of the West Midlands is the genius behind many of the Landmarks across the West Midlands. His works include- Lions of the Great War, A bust of Phil- Lynott, Sikh Regiment Memorial, and The Strength of the Hijab. The landmarks and monuments can be spotted across the West Midlands from Smethwick to West Brom. Monuments created by him can even be spotted in London.

It's no wonder why when the Project was being curated, Luke was amongst the many amazing artists involved.

What is the Roundabout Project?

The RoundAbout Chapel Ash Project is a project that brings together Wolverhampton City Council, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and 8 community groups to regenerate a public underpass into a space where communities can program multiple interventions and events.

Community engagement is at the forefront of the project with the Chapel Ash Underpass set to have a variety of art interventions including sculpture, murals, a community garden and more.

Meet Gio.

I'd like to describe Gio as an all round Artist Extra ordinaire. The cheerful yet confident guy with an awesome smile who does so much for bringing locals together through Art in the many events he organises. I sat down with Gio to get to know about the Artist.
